About Lakshmi Karthik
- C R Lakshmi Karthik is the disciple of Smt. Anandhi Krishnamurthy, Palakkad. She received traditional training in Bharathanatyam and completed her Arangetram (1999) under the guidence of Smt. Anandhi Krishnamurthy. She received proessional training in bharathaanatyam from Smt. Shobana Balachandra, Chennai. Lakshmi holds a MFA (Masters Degree) in Bharathanatyam (2009) from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. She is a PhD Dance Research Scholar at IGNOU , Delhi. She is a recipient of Dance research scholarship as well.
- Lakshmi has worked with Doordarshan (2011–2014) as an anchor for dance and music events, and is also a graded Bharatanatyam artist with Doordarshan Kendra. She further served as an anchor with Sri Sankara TV (2013–2017), hosting Bhajan Samrat and various other cultural programs.
- Apart from being a classical dancer and teacher Lakshmi works with Dance Interventions and Holistic Development through Arts. She has published a book title “Dancing Games” to enhance holistic development of children. She holds an Advanced Diploma (2012) in Kathak from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune. In spite of being a dancer by profession, Lakshmi holds an M.Sc in Computer Science too. Lakshmi has developed a curriculam for arts training mainly dance called LACE - Learn Ace Create and Educate. The curriculam is well structured by integrating dance with science , maths and other aspects of education.
