Lakshmi Karthik is a Bharathanatyam and Kathak dancer and teacher. She holds a M.A in Bharathanatyam from Bharathidasan university, Tamil Nadu &  Nritya Visaradh in Kathak from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya,Pune.  

She is a dance research scholar and article writer. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D in performing arts (dance) at Indra Gandhi University (IGNOU), Delhi.

 She is a recipient of "Shatakshi Women's Award 2020" from Rhythms Group, Mumbai for running Sri Nrithya Lakshana  successfully for 10 years. She is a graded doordarshan artist. 

Trained traditionally in this art form by her gurus, she is a skilled performer too. She is also an efficient television anchor. 

Lakshmi began her training as a child of under Mrs. Anandhi Krishnamurthy and received advanced training in Bharathanatyam under Mrs.Shobhana Balachandra. Subsequently, she did her formative training in Kuchipudi style with the renowned artist Dr. Methil Devika. • She received her formative training in Kathak form Ruhi Masodkar. • Attended professional Kathak training classes under Ms. Jayanthi Mala Mishra. She received training in practical application Natyashastra from Dr. Sujatha Mohan.

• Diploma in Kathak from Bharati Vidya Peeth (Deemed to be university)

• Certificate in Student centered coaching skills from Imperial college London (Online) through Edx /Imperial X
• Master degree , MSc in computer science from Bharathiar University.
• Diploma is advanced multimedia from NIIT.

• Active member of International dance council CID/UNESCO since 2017.
• Have published articles in CID/PANORAMA.
• Participated in International Dance council’s world congress by CID / UNESCO in Mumbai 2018. 
• A graded artist in Doordarshan, performed in "NADANA ARANGAM",Podhigai. 
• "THAKA DHIMI THA" Episode Winner 2008 (A dance reality show in Jaya TV).  
• She has participated in seminars and workshops conducted by ABHAI ,under great gurus such as "Prof.Sudha Rani Ragupathy", "Dr,Padma Subramanyam" and "Dr. Vyjayanthimala Bali ". 
•  She has attended professional training workshop in Kathak from Ms. Jayanthi Mala Mishra. 
•  She has also participate in Mudra dance festival, Trivandrum. 
• She has secured 1st place in dance competitions conducted by "Swaralaya dance and music festivals". 
• She received "Shatakshi Women's Award 2020" from SSL Rhythms center. 
•  She has received the Title “Bharathanatiya Kalai Thilakam”, from South Indian social and cultural academy . 
• She won "A" grade in competition conducted by Kerala Brahmana Sabha. 
• Has been titled as “Natyakala Saraswathi” at Rashtriya Akhila Bharathiya Nrityotsava organized by Ohm Sai Performing Arts Centre.  

•  Mrs.Lakshmi Karthik established Nrithya Lakshana in 2010 with aspirations to explore newer sensibilities in Indian classical dance forms.  
• Later known as Sri Nrithya lakshana Dance Education , it provides a systematic training to children as well as adults with a well framed syllabus including dance theory and history . 
• Students are approached will great affection and care.
